## About the Role
SRF’s Economic Controller will play a key role within the support services department, connecting finance, operations, and the requirements tied to grant- and project-funded work. The position exists to help managers and project leads turn financial information and funding conditions into sound decisions, compliant reporting, and well-used resources.
You will work across budgeting, forecasting, follow-up, requisitions, reporting, and audit preparation for externally funded activities. The role combines analysis, accuracy, and regular collaboration with colleagues across the organisation. It is based at SRF’s office in Enskede and is a full-time permanent position with a six-month probationary period. The work may occasionally involve travel or work outside normal office hours. Prior experience with every system is not required, but you should be comfortable working with systems and interested in improving how they are used.
## Key Responsibilities
– Contribute to budget preparation and forecast follow-up for the office.
– Support managers and project leads with financial matters and translate funding requirements into workable routines.
– Plan and monitor project budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and decision-making materials.
– Ensure accurate project accounting, accruals, and cost allocation with traceability from transaction to report.
– Prepare and quality-check financial parts of requisitions and reports according to funder terms and templates.
– Manage indirect costs, overhead, co-financing, and currency where relevant.
– Develop budget tracking and forecasting in OneStop Reporting and other systems.
– Prepare materials for annual audits and project audits, and support stronger internal control and follow-up.
## Required Skills
– Relevant post-secondary education in finance, controlling, or equivalent experience.
– Several years of qualified finance experience as a controller, project accountant, or similar, with project accounting as a significant part of the role.
– Documented experience in grant-funded work, such as publicly funded or foundation-funded projects, including applying funder requirements to budgets, accounting, reporting, and practical routines.
– Very strong Excel skills.
– Excellent spoken and written Swedish and English.
– Salary expectations aligned with the conditions in the civil society sector.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience with state-funded projects, public authority reporting, or project audits.
– Experience in international project accounting, including currency, co-financing, and special reporting requirements.
– Experience working closely with external auditors and preparing complete audit documentation.
– Background in fundraising organisations or similar environments with high demands for transparency, internal control, and reporting to external funders.
– Experience with accessible documents and digital workflows.
– Experience with Visma.net, Approval, OneStop Reporting, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar systems.
