## About the Role

Celigo is hiring a Principal Enterprise Architect to establish its enterprise architecture function from the ground up. The role exists to bring structure, standards, and governance to a highly distributed technology landscape and to help the organization make better decisions faster.

This person will own portfolio rationalization, architecture principles, review processes, and the operating model for the practice. They will work across GTO, domain leads, Finance, Procurement, Security, the AI Platform team, and business stakeholders to turn findings into action and align technology decisions with business outcomes.

The scope also includes SaaS governance, AI-enabled portfolio analysis, and architecture controls for the AI estate. The base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $200,000 per year, with total compensation potentially including variable incentives, benefits, or other perks outlined in a formal offer.

## Key Responsibilities

– Build the enterprise architecture practice, including the operating model, architecture principles, review process, standards catalog, and decision log.
– Define what should be governed first and create a shared language for the broader GTO organization.
– Own the application portfolio inventory and maintain lifecycle classification across adopt, hold, and retire.
– Drive consolidation of redundant applications and tools.
– Lead build-versus-buy decisions with Celigo’s platform considered first, using architecture principles and total cost of ownership.
– Establish SaaS governance and cost control, including policy ownership and portfolio-wide visibility.
– Partner with Procurement and Finance to capture savings, consolidate capability, and manage contract renewals proactively.
– Use AI tools to analyze the portfolio, identify consolidation opportunities, surface renewal risk, and generate prioritized action lists.
– Extend governance to AI systems by defining control points, approval paths, and a least-agency framework.
– Work with the AI Platform team on MCP standards, data-access patterns, and evaluation criteria.
– Align the technology roadmap with company goals and ROI.
– Build architecture capability across GTO through embedded domain architects and a community of practice.

## Required Skills

– 10+ years of experience in enterprise or solution architecture.
– Demonstrated ownership of an application portfolio and architecture standards in a software or high-growth company.
– Proven experience with application rationalization and SaaS cost reduction, including measurable savings.
– Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks and lifecycle governance, including TOGAF-style practice, adopt/hold/retire classification, and architecture review board processes.
– Strong build-versus-buy judgment and total cost of ownership experience.
– Experience working with Procurement, Finance, and Security on vendor decisions.
– Working knowledge of AI and agentic governance concepts, including least-privilege and least-agency architecture, control points, and data-access patterns.
– Ability to influence through alignment rather than formal authority.
– Ability to connect architecture decisions to business outcomes.
– Practical, iterative approach to setting standards and driving adoption.
– Ownership mindset that extends beyond a narrow scope.

## Preferred Skills

– Hands-on experience using AI tools to analyze and govern a portfolio at scale.
– Experience with iPaaS or integration platforms and a view on Customer Zero.
– Background in FinOps or SaaS spend management tooling.

– Improve visibility into SaaS spend and contract usage across the estate.

– Use contract renewals as a trigger to consolidate capability or recover budget.
– Apply total cost of ownership analysis to build-versus-buy decisions.
– Support cost reduction through application consolidation and vendor rationalization.
