## About the Role
As a Software Asset & FinOps Manager in Zwolle, you will help create control over software and cloud spend, licenses, and contracts. The role combines Software Asset Management (SAM), contract analysis, and FinOps to provide clear insight into usage, compliance, and financial impact across a complex IT environment.
You will own the software and license position and help reduce compliance and audit risks through accurate analysis, reporting, and governance. The role sits at the intersection of IT, Procurement, Finance, Contract Management, and Supplier Management, with responsibility for shaping and professionalizing software, contract, and cost management processes.
## Key Responsibilities
– Maintain the software, contract, and license records in tooling and documentation.
– Determine, monitor, and update the effective license position using contracts, usage data, and technical source information.
– Identify compliance risks, over- and underdeployment, incorrect usage, and inefficiencies.
– Prepare and support internal controls, audits, true-ups, and reviews.
– Assess license impact when usage, infrastructure, contracts, or supplier models change.
– Translate complex license terms into practical management agreements, controls, and reports.
– Analyze software and cloud contracts for commercial, operational, and licensing implications.
– Support internal decision-making with clear analysis of options, risks, renewals, and contract changes.
– Analyze SaaS services and cloud usage and turn findings into optimization actions.
– Spot unusual usage, unexpected cost trends, and savings opportunities.
– Improve data quality, integrations, and reporting in Snow and related tooling.
– Produce regular reports on license position, compliance, contract status, risks, cost development, and optimization opportunities.
– Work closely with IT, Procurement, Finance, legal support, Contract Management, and Supplier Management.
## Required Skills
– HBO/WO work and thinking level.
– Around 5 years of relevant experience in SAM, license management, contract management, contract analysis, FinOps, or a similar role in a complex IT environment.
– Demonstrable experience with Software Asset Management, FinOps, and contract administration.
– Strong analytical and data-driven approach.
– Accuracy and the ability to work in an audit-proof manner.
– Ability to turn detailed findings into clear advice for stakeholders.
– Proactive mindset for identifying and raising risks, deviations, and optimization opportunities.
– Strong organizational awareness and persuasive communication skills.

– Support forecasting to help managers make decisions on renewals, scaling, and investments.
– Evaluate the financial impact of new cloud contracts.
– Translate analysis into concrete measures for cost optimization and spend control.
## Benefits
– Salary of €3,732 to €5,331 gross per month based on 40 hours per week.
– Total compensation can reach up to €6,861 gross per month, including:
