# IT Cost and Contract Analyst

## About the Role

The IT Cost and Contract Analyst reports to the Project and Portfolio Manager and is responsible for managing, analysing and optimising IT spend across the organisation. The role works closely with Global IT leadership, Procurement and Finance to ensure technology costs are visible, controlled and aligned to business value.

This position acts as the central source of insight on IT commercial performance. It supports decision-making through analysis of contracts, vendors, licences and consumption trends, while helping improve cost efficiency, contractual outcomes and overall IT financial management maturity.

## Key Responsibilities

– Maintain end-to-end visibility of IT spend across vendors, contracts, services and cost categories, including cloud, software, infrastructure and services.
– Analyse actual spend against budget, identifying variances, trends, risks and optimisation opportunities.
– Support forecasting with accurate and timely cost data.
– Develop and maintain cost allocation models aligned to IT services, products or business units.
– Produce reporting for IT leadership and Finance.
– Maintain an accurate, auditable register of IT contracts, renewals, commercial terms and obligations.
– Monitor contract performance, usage and compliance, and identify opportunities for renegotiation or consolidation.
– Review licence usage and compliance to identify rationalisation, consolidation, overlap and duplication opportunities.
– Track contract milestones, termination dates and renewal windows to avoid unplanned spend and commercial risk.
– Identify and quantify cost optimisation opportunities, including licence rationalisation, vendor consolidation, demand management and consumption optimisation.
– Support return on investment (ROI) analysis.
– Contribute to continuous improvement in IT financial management maturity.
– Partner with IT leadership, Procurement and Finance as a trusted commercial advisor.
– Deliver data-driven insights, financial analysis and recommendations.
– Ensure alignment between IT financial management, procurement policies and financial controls.
– Support audit and compliance activities related to IT spend and contracts.
– Help standardise IT commercial and contract management practices.

## Required Skills

– Experience in IT cost management, contract management, commercial analysis or financial analysis.
– Strong analytical skills, with confidence working across complex datasets and financial models.
– Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
– Experience managing or analysing IT contracts, licences or vendor agreements.
– Ability to work cross-functionally with IT, Procurement and Finance teams.
– High attention to detail, with strong organisational and documentation skills.
– Clear, confident communication skills, with the ability to turn data into actionable insights.
– Experience with cloud-based cost models.
– Experience supporting vendor negotiations or sourcing activities.

## Preferred Skills

– Previous experience with Workday Finance.

## FinOps Responsibilities

– Maintain visibility of IT spend across vendors, contracts, services and cost categories.

– Identify optimisation opportunities across licence usage, vendor consolidation, demand management and consumption.
– Support ROI analysis and reporting for IT leadership and Finance.
– Align IT financial management with procurement policies and financial controls.
– Contribute to the maturity of IT financial management practices.
