# Strategic FinOps Manager

## About the Role
This position sits within the Service Area Software Development and Governance (SDG) in the tribe Demand, Value and FinOps Management (SDGDVF). It is based in Karlsruhe, Münster, or Munich (Aschheim), and involves working with 16 colleagues across locations and multiple interfaces.
The role exists to establish FinOps as a central service and create technical and commercial transparency around services, costs, and value. The scope covers public cloud, private cloud, and on-premises environments.
A core part of the role is supporting the Atruvia Trusted Tech Foundation (ATTF) through governance, measurement, reporting, and advisory work. The emphasis is on clear guardrails, portfolio transparency, and data-based decision support rather than classic budget controlling.
## Key Responsibilities
– Build and further develop the central FinOps service within ATTF.
– Define the FinOps governance framework, including roles, processes, standards, and metrics.
– Act as the main point of contact for FinOps topics related to ATTF portfolio steering and alignment.
– Advise business and service areas on cost, economic viability, and value contribution for new demands and strategic initiatives.
– Develop standardized reports and dashboards for internal customers and decision-makers.
– Work with service areas, Finance, Controlling, Architecture, and Operations to embed FinOps parameters into demand and value structures.
## Required Skills
– Degree in business informatics, IT architecture, IT systems development, or a comparable qualification.
– More than 6 years of relevant professional experience.
– Experience in FinOps, cloud or hybrid cloud management, or IT financial management in complex technical environments.
– Strong understanding of FinOps as a method for managing value contribution and economic efficiency in hybrid and multi-cloud landscapes, including on-premises environments.
– Confident use of Excel, SQL, or Power BI.
– Ability to analyze large datasets from multiple sources, including on-premises, private cloud, and hyperscaler environments.
– Business-fluent German at C1 level or above.
– Good English at B2 level.
– Strong analytical skills and a structured, data-driven working style.
– Strong communication skills and conflict-handling ability.
– Ability to support FinOps adoption and effectiveness in cross-functional teams.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience with SAP.
– Experience with FinOps or cost-management solutions.
– Relevant certifications such as FinOps Certified Practitioner or Cloud Engineer / Solution Architect.

## FinOps Responsibilities
– Establish the central FinOps service and governance model for the ATTF portfolio.
– Define roles, processes, standards, and metrics for FinOps governance.
– Create transparency and guardrails rather than traditional budget controlling.
– Advise on portfolio direction, cost, economic viability, and value contribution.
– Implement and improve measurement methods across products and services.
– Integrate measurement into ATTF value management.
– Ensure resource consumption and costs are collected consistently across on-premises, private cloud, and hyperscaler environments.
– Support economic comparison through TCO analysis and scenario comparisons.
– Develop reports and dashboards that support decision-making.
– Embed FinOps parameters such as cost, utilization, efficiency, and business value into demand and value structures.
