# Sr. FinOps Engineer
**Contract to Hire | Fully Remote**
## About the Role
This role focuses on improving cloud financial management by building automation and controls that support tagging compliance, budget and anomaly guardrails, workload optimization, forecasting, chargeback/showback, anomaly detection, and unit economics. The scope includes public cloud, container platforms, data services, and AI/GenAI workloads.
The Senior FinOps Engineer will work closely with Engineering, Finance, Product, Architecture, Security, Procurement, and AI/ML teams to develop scalable FinOps capabilities. The main objective is to improve cost transparency, strengthen financial accountability, and deliver measurable cloud savings.
## Key Responsibilities
– Analyze cloud usage and resource utilization to identify improvement opportunities.
– Build automation for tagging compliance, budget controls, anomaly guardrails, and workload optimization.
– Design and implement AI-enabled FinOps capabilities to improve cost visibility and optimization.
– Establish FinOps governance for AI/ML and GenAI workloads.
– Implement and maintain automated tools for cost trend analysis and anomaly detection.
– Support forecasting, chargeback/showback, and unit economics efforts.
– Partner with Finance and business teams to align cloud spending with budget constraints.
## Required Skills
– 7+ years of experience in information technology with cloud expertise.
– Experience with AWS, AliCloud, and Azure.
– Strong OS scripting and automation skills, including Python and Bash.
– Proven experience developing and implementing FinOps or cloud cost optimization strategies.
– Familiarity with AI/ML cost management and stakeholder leadership.
