## About the Role
Autodesk is hiring a Senior Cloud & AI FinOps Analyst to expand FinOps support for internal teams. This role combines multi-cloud cost management, advanced analytics, business systems analysis, and product ownership for an expanding AI asset portfolio.
You will help build a more transparent and self-service-oriented FinOps operating model across AWS, Azure, GCP, and AI-related tools and platforms. The work sits at the intersection of engineering, finance, product, and automation teams, with a focus on improving visibility, governance, and decision-making.
The goal is to turn analysis into repeatable actions that improve spend control, forecasting, allocation accuracy, and optimization execution. This position also supports broader adoption of FinOps practices through shared accountability and stakeholder enablement.
## Key Responsibilities
– Own stakeholder-facing FinOps capabilities, including dashboards, reporting, documentation, enablement, self-service, and intake workflows.
– Maintain the FinOps services portal as the primary entry point for cloud and AI services, optimization guidance, and automated license or budget requests.
– Evolve the operating model, roadmap, backlog, and continuous improvement process for cloud infrastructure and AI developer tools.
– Lead a FinOps Champion Network across engineering, finance, and product teams through shared goals, playbooks, and office hours.
– Improve governance and decision quality through showback/chargeback, KPI standardization, tagging discipline, and AI user-attribution expectations.
– Build and maintain dashboards and reporting in Apptio Cloudability, Apptio BI, and Turbonomic.
– Track AI license usage, user seats, and token consumption to identify underused licenses and inefficient consumption patterns.
– Analyze spend anomalies, monthly variances, and major cost drivers, then present clear summaries to technical and non-technical leaders.
– Define reporting standards, allocation logic, and tagging requirements to support accurate cost attribution by business unit and cost center.
– Convert optimization opportunities into repeatable, automated workflows with detection, recommendations, approvals, and post-change validation.
– Support forecasting, budget tracking, variance narratives, and vendor agreement improvements through commitments, negotiated pricing, and discount levers.
– Partner with cloud and automation engineering teams to implement guardrails that operationalize recommendations and prevent spend regressions.
## Required Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
– 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or FinOps Analyst.
– Experience with requirements elicitation, process mapping, stakeholder facilitation, and delivering stakeholder-facing capabilities.
– Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including the ability to work through ambiguity, define metrics, validate data, and present defensible conclusions.
– Hands-on experience building and maintaining dashboards in Apptio Cloudability, Apptio BI, Turbonomic, or closely comparable platform-native tools.
– Working knowledge of cloud billing and pricing across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
– Understanding of SaaS and AI licensing models, including user seats, token-based usage, and API pricing tiers.
– Experience working with technical teams on infrastructure or SaaS lifecycle automation, including requirements, acceptance criteria, and measurable outcomes.
– Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical documentation and executive-level storytelling.
– Customer-focused service mindset with an emphasis on clear expectations and improved self-service visibility.
## Preferred Skills
– FinOps Certified Practitioner (FCP) or higher.
– Cloud foundational certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or Google Cloud Digital Leader.
