# Account Manager
*Remote in the US; preferred location in the Midwest or on the East Coast.*
## About the Role
This position sits on the US Sales team and focuses on managing relationships with existing customers, identifying growth opportunities, and helping retain DoiT’s customer base. The role is designed to provide a consistent point of contact for customers and cloud vendor teams, with a stated goal of retaining 100% of existing customers.
You will work across account management, support, services, and engineering to better understand customer needs and how DoiT’s cloud management platform can help address them. The work includes customer engagement, escalation management, vendor coordination, and identifying both expansion and optimization opportunities.
The role also plays an important part in bringing customer feedback back to internal teams so products and solutions stay aligned with customer needs and development priorities.
## Key Responsibilities
– Build a strong understanding of DoiT’s business, cloud management platform, support, and services.
– Own customer context and communication with vendor teams, with an eye toward growth opportunities.
– Manage customer support escalations through resolution and maintain a high level of satisfaction.
– Negotiate and close long-term commitments with key stakeholders while balancing customer, vendor, and company interests.
– Identify new workload opportunities within customer cloud environments and SaaS solutions.
– Maintain regular contact across your customer portfolio, including strategic accounts and fast-growing clients.
– Gather customer feedback and share it with product and engineering teams.
– Lead quarterly business reviews, including project timelines, projected cloud spend, and support/engagement feedback.
– Identify cost optimization opportunities within customer cloud environments.
– Partner with cloud vendor sales representatives on mutual customers.
## Required Skills
– 2+ years of experience in account management, customer success, or customer engineering.
– 3+ years of experience at a technology company.
– Strong verbal and written communication skills.
– Strong technical aptitude with the ability to work effectively with technical teams.
– Ability to build influential relationships.
– Strong operational and administrative skills.
– Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to work from both the big picture and the details.
– Motivation to grow within the organization and expand your skill set.
– A sense of humor and enjoyment of a fun work environment.
## Preferred Skills
– Experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or other major public clouds.
– Experience in the FinOps ecosystem.
– AWS Cloud Practitioner or Google Cloud Digital Leader certification.
– Additional languages.
