For our client, we are seeking a Principal Cloud Finops Analyst to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space. This role will lead technical work focused on cloud-enabled scalability, reliability, and delivery excellence. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Telecommunications & Hardware environment.
Location: Remote – US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $240,570 – $297,000 annually
Responsibilities
Develop visibility dashboards for cloud spend segmented by product and feature
Collaborate with Engineering to improve tagging practices for reporting accuracy
Forecast cloud spend using sales projections and product roadmaps
Establish spend alarms based on established budgets and conduct investigations on spend incidents
Analyze unit economics and collaborate with teams to track and report relevant metrics
Document and communicate findings regarding spending anomalies with actionable insights
Qualifications
5-7 years of experience as a FinOps analyst, with expertise in cloud providers, especially AWS
Proficient in SQL, particularly for exploratory data analysis and billing data
Experience in analyzing complex billing datasets and independently addressing spend anomalies
Knowledge of shared infrastructure costs in a B2B SaaS environment
Demonstrated ability to create cost reporting dashboards using BI tools like Tableau or Looker
Familiarity with cloud savings mechanisms, such as Savings Plans and Reserved Instances
Strong communication skills for presenting findings to technical and financial leaders
