For our client, we are seeking a Finops Lead — Hybrid Cloud & On-Prem Infrastructure (remote) to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will lead technical work focused on cloud-enabled scalability, reliability, and delivery excellence. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a technology-driven environment.
Location: Remote – US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $200,000 – $225,000 annually
Responsibilities
Develop an in-depth understanding of VA infrastructure operations and financial governance
Lead the implementation of an enterprise FinOps framework for cloud and on-premises environments
Establish governance structures and financial accountability models to optimize costs
Align FinOps strategy with VA’s priorities and modernization initiatives
Implement cost allocation, resource tagging, and financial dashboards for transparency
Manage forecasting models and develop insights for investment decision-making
Drive automation in financial reporting and cost optimization processes
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field; equivalent experience accepted
12+ years in cloud financial management, financial operations, or infrastructure cost management in complex IT environments
Experience with hybrid infrastructure environments including cloud and on-premise
Expertise in cost modeling, forecasting, financial analytics, KPI development, and budgeting
Proficient in creating financial governance frameworks and accountability practices
Strong communicator with ability to convey financial impacts of technical decisions to diverse stakeholders
Experience with senior leadership reporting and decision support materials
