A Day in the Life:
As a FinOps Architect, you will blend deep expertise in cost optimization and architectural best practices across AWS, Databricks, and Palantir. You will partner with engineering, data, finance, and operations teams to drive strategic savings, governance, and workload efficiency. This role positions you at the convergence of cloud cost strategy and data platform innovation. You will be instrumental in shaping sustainable, high-value data infrastructures and driving cost efficiency across the organization’s data cloud footprint.
What You’ll Do:
Analyze AWS cost and usage data to spot patterns, anomalies, and optimization opportunities
Develop reports and dashboards using Cost Explorer and FinOps platforms
Recommend rightsizing, Savings Plans and Reserved Instances
Monitor Databricks unit (DBU) usage, enforce tagging, optimize cluster configuration, enable auto-scaling and enforce cluster policies
Define cost allocation models for Palantir workloads; integrate platform usage metrics with overall cloud spend reporting
Identify cost drivers across data pipelines and feature deployments to inform optimization decisions and cost accountability
Establish tagging standards and governance processes to ensure cost visibility across accounts, applications, and projects
Automate cost governance signals like budget alerts, anomaly detection, and provisioning controls
Drive FinOps cultural adoption: coordinate with engineering, finance, and cloud ops teams to integrate financial ownership into workflows
Facilitate cross-functional cost review forums and governance cadences
Automate cost reporting and optimization recommendations
